The transformative power of nature and its impact on mental well-being
At Tonello, we believe in this magic. This belief is beautifully encapsulated in our latest collaboration for Project Wander, a capsule collection by Cone Denim and AMK Atelier, the designer of this collection.
This project intertwines the soothing essence of the great outdoors with the responsibility and ethics of our garment finishing technologies, like Wake.
Inspired by the therapeutic benefits of nature, Cone Denim’s latest collection, Wander, draws on the concept of the great outdoors as a sanctuary for mental respite. The range includes garments crafted from Cone Community Mental Health Awareness cotton selvedge and other sustainable fabrics. This special selvedge denim not only stands out for its quality but also for its mission to highlight the positive mental health impacts of spending time in nature.

More than just a range of garments
We at Tonello are proud to provide the finishing touches for these garments, using responsible and gentle washing and dyeing effects. Our meticulous attention to detail is evident in the laser-marked J.R.R. Tolkien quote, “Not all who wander are lost” found on the undersides of the pocket flaps. This collaboration not only emphasizes aesthetic and functional excellence but also aligns with our commitment to sustainability and mental health awareness.
The Wander collection is a movement to raise awareness about mental health. Citing research from the International Journal of Mental Health and Addiction, Cone Denim emphasizes that spending time in nature can lower depression rates and reduce stress. Pierette Scavuzzo, Cone Denim’s design director, expresses the profound impact of this collaboration, highlighting the importance of raising awareness within the denim industry.
Moreover, a portion of the sales from the Cone Community Mental Health Awareness selvedge will be donated to the Child Mind Institute, a national nonprofit dedicated to supporting children and families dealing with mental health and learning disorders.
This initiative not only brings together some of the industry’s greats but also supports an essential cause.
A testament to the power of collaboration, the beauty of nature, and the importance of mental health
Alice Tonello, our marketing and R&D director, aptly describes the Wander collaboration as “a bit like getting lost, only to find yourself again.” This collection encourages everyone to take a moment to breathe, step outside, and reconnect with the natural world.
At Tonello, we are honored to contribute our expertise to such a meaningful project and are excited to see the positive impact it will have on individuals and the community.
